DRY FRUITS AND RAGGI LADOOS BY NIVEDITA KARNAD

NANCHNI DRY FRUITS LADOOS

Ingredients:

a) 1 cup naachni (raagi)
b) 1/3rd cup besan
c) 1/3 cup roasted dry fruits coarsly powdered (badam, akhrot, kaju, pista, peanuts, soaked and chopped kishmish)
d) 4 to 6 tbsp ghee
e) roasted pista for garnish
f) 6 tbsp powdered sugar (qty ti be usrd as required)
g) 1/4th tsp ilaichi powder

Method:

a) Heat 3 tbsp ghee in a broad non-stick pan.
b) Add the ragi flour and cook on a slow flame till it turns golden brown in colour, while stirring continuously. Remove from the flame.
c) In the same.pan add 1 to 2 more tbsp ghee and roast the besan till it gives that distinct aroma.
d) Dry roast the nuts mentioned in the ingredients and powder them coarsly. Then add soaked n chopped kishmish to them. Add ilaichi powder to this mixture.
d) Mix the besan, raagi flour and dried nuts together.
e) keep adding powdered sugar, 1 tbsp at a time till desired sweetness is achieved. This mixture should not be ouly or greasy.
f) Make laddoos. Garnish with roasted pista. Store in air tight container.
